Artist Statement

I chose to create a collage of pictures that I have taken in some of the most beautiful parts of the world. I made those pictures black and white to show that a lot of the beauty is gone. I chose hands that are holding a beautiful sunset to show that the fate of the world lies in our hands as humans. We have control of how this plays out and we can choose if the rest of the world turns bleak and colorless or we can choose to save the beauty that is left. The world in the picture is deteriorating as you can see the edges are mixing together with the black and white. The issue of climate change and the health of the world as a whole is primarily in the palm of our hands and I wanted the beauty of the world that is left to be the primary focus to the viewer.
