Artist's Statement

This piece uses ink and watercolor to portray a skeleton praying as it is killed by the ashes of a volcano. The skeleton represents someone who refused to believe and accept the truths about climate change and the harm we as people are causing to our planet until it was too late. The volcano is erupting, which shows that the destruction has already begun and there is no way of going back and reversing one's actions. This piece was created with an artistic interpretation of the consequences given to those that disregard the need for imminent change.
