Artist's Statement

For my final project, I chose to create a pocket zine about global warming. I wanted to break it down as simply as I could so that anyone who came across the small zine could understand it without any background knowledge. I was motivated to create this project because I found that some people don’t understand the severity of global warming or how it works. I wanted to inform people about global warming in a simple way and try to make them care about it. I also felt it was important to include changes they could make to their lives to help the environment as an individual. Many people don’t know how to help, so I wanted to give them a place to get started. Overall I just really wanted it to be understandable and accessible. The process of this project included research about global warming and some time spent drawing out the zine on my iPad.
