Artist Statement

Throughout this course, I felt like I’ve been pushed to see things in a way that may be uncomfortable for me. When I saw the final project and different ideas I could do for it, I wanted to continue this trend of putting myself outside of my comfort zone. This is why I decided to do a comic strip/drawing for my project. I apologize for the poor artistic skills, but I wanted to try and convey how the marine animals made me feel in a way that I wasn’t normally comfortable with. The issues we discussed throughout this course should make people uncomfortable – it’s pressing issues that need to be discussed and taken care of.
