Artist Statement

My piece is comprised of three panels, each displaying a different facet of society’s progression into inequity and natural crises. While learning about the Anthropocene, a piece I read from Friedrich Engles kept coming to mind. Two hundred years ago he was writing about the dehumanizing nature of the Industrial Revolution and capitalism, and not much has changed since then. Different problems have just evolved into different forms. I divided the issues into three categories: the Old World, the New World, and Everlasting Billionaires/The American Dream.
