Artist's Statement

I love poetry and this earth so I decided to combine the two for my final project. My poem was inspired by the intrinsically breathtaking phenomenons that make our world so beautiful and enjoyable to live in. The poem is entitled “The Promise” because I believe each person that benefits from the earth's natural goodness (which is everyone) should make a promise to do all they can to ensure that this lovely earth is taken care of. I have put this poem on one of my favorite pictures taken from when I was living in Romania. This was a fitting choice for me because Romania has so much untouched beauty juxtaposed with other parts of the country that have been ruthlessly obliterated by war or resource extraction.
