Untitled Piece

Artist's Statement

“The whole world is singing, clicking, grinding, whistling, and thumping… but we’ve stopped listening.” I have always loved the beautiful sounds of nature. From the smallest of critters to the large whales in the sea, I believe the creatures on this earth want to speak. Unfortunately, many of those voices are no longer being heard. In this fully instrumental piece, I hope to capture some
of the beautiful sounds of nature. This piece contains the songs of birds, frogs, crickets, bees, and even the sounds of thunderstorms. The music begins simply, then slowly sounds are layered to represent the voices of billions of creatures on earth. You will notice that the sounds disappear and ultimately become silent, symbolizing the voices of nature that have become silent over time. As you listen to this piece, I invite you to close your eyes and imagine the scenes of what
you hear. What vibrant colors do you see? How does the wind and rain feel on your skin? Is it warm or cold? How many voices can you hear at any point in the song?
