Honey, I'm Home!
Artist's Statement
The title of this piece is, “Honey, I’m Home!” It is composed of paper collage and pen and ink. The concept of externalities was my inspiration for this piece. We are all largely unaware of how our middle-class, comfortable lives come at the cost of our planet’s and other humans’ well-being. These costs are covered by the guise of normalcy and idealism, fueled by consumerism and ignorance. However, the price of our rosy existence is always being paid for somewhere behind the scenes.
