Artist's Statement

I was inspired by the 2020 fires in Australia for this project. Global warming has drastically increased the amount of wildfires we have experienced in the past decade and I wanted to show a wild fire in a forest of pine trees because those are the trees here in my home state. The amount of animals that are burned alive and left with nowhere to live is devastating to me and it is almost entirely humanity’s fault.
