Artist's Statement

For my project, I decided to write a short story from the perspective of a plant. (It
ended up being 13 pages so I don’t know if it’s really short). I wanted to create a sense of melancholy to show how life is and suddenly upend everything with a tragedy with almost no time for explanation. The inspiration behind this was from what we learned in class, change will happen either by design or disaster. The purpose of this story is to show the disaster side of the narrative. I honestly hope this story leaves people feeling unsatisfied and potentially even frustrated.
