Artist's Statement

I decided to create this social media project because I wanted to find a creative way to share with my family and friends what I have learned in this class. I began with an outline of my first posts and the main ideas I wanted to get across. These were critical themes we talked about throughout the semester, of the solution space, systems-thinking, the critical state of the planet, and the notion of creating a world that is sustainable, just, and vibrant. I really emphasized the idea of storytelling and with my later posts, added my own personal photos and thoughts surrounding nature, sustainability, and advocacy.

I used canva to create simple, but compelling visuals and added music to a number of my posts to connect with the themes. This project is nice, because it is something I can continue to update and share with people in my circle ideas that they may not have considered before.
