Artist's Statement

Changing systems and ways of life is critical to living on a sustainable, just, and vibrant Earth. For these systems to work we must accept that our western, high-consumption ways of life will need to change. I wanted to show the joy and beauty that can be found in lowering personal consumption by repurposing old clothing materials and turning them into a quilt. Adopting principles of sustainability into our personal lives doesn’t have to be a drag, and it can even be fun!
