American Mathematical Society

Utah State Student Chapter

The mission of the American Mathematical Society Graduate Student Chapter at Utah State University is to serve mathematics graduate students at USU by providing opportunities for academic and professional development and to foster a sense of community within the department. The Chapter organizes professional and social activities related to mathematics, the mathematics profession and graduate student life. Most Chapter activities are also suitable for undergraduate students, and undergraduates are encouraged to participate.

Spooky Halloween Scavenger Hunt (Joint with USU SIAM Chapter)
Oct 26 @ 6:00 pm - Join other math enthusiasts for a fun Halloween themed scavenger hunt! Make sure to wear warm clothes!

Integration Bee
Nov 12 @ 4:30 pm - Like a spelling bee... but with integrals! Anyone that has taken any undergraduate calculus is welcome. The winner takes all the glory, but everyone else can enjoy the fun and the food.

Winter Social (Game night)
Dec 3 @ 4:30 pm - Come to take a break from studying for some food and games and as an extra bonus interact with other math enthusiasts.

Welcome Back social
Jan 21 @ 4:30 pm - Ease back into the new semester with food, fun and other math lovers!

Lightning talks
Feb 18 @ 4:30 pm - These are a series of VERY short (only 5 minutes!) talks about interesting ideas in mathematics and statistics. Food will be provided.

Math Jeopardy
Mar 25 @ 4:30 pm - A fun night of interesting math problems, ideas, and trivia to the person that can buzz in the fastest.

Science Unwrapped
Apr 2 @ 7:00 pm - Come see us at the AMS table after the Science Unwrapped talk!
