About Me

I am originally from Ghana, and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Mathematical Sciences at Utah State University. In addition to my research in mathematical biology and modeling, I enjoy playing saxophone, community leadership, cultural events, and exploring ways to connect people through shared learning and experiences.

Why I Came to USU

I chose Utah State University for my graduate studies because it offered the opportunity to pursue my passion for mathematical biology while working with faculty whose expertise closely matched my research interests. Coming from Ghana, I was drawn to USU’s reputation for combining high-quality research with a welcoming and supportive environment for graduate students. The chance to grow as both a scholar and teacher in such a collaborative community made USU the ideal place for me.

Research Focus/Study

  • Mathematical biology, dynamical systems, and computational modeling with applications to infectious diseases and ecological systems.
  • Development of spatio-temporal models, agent-based models, deterministic models, and stochastic models to study the spread and control of human and plant diseases.
  • Exploration of spatial dynamics, environmental variability, and population interactions using tools such as individual-based models, mean-field approximations, and pair-correlation functions.
  • Translating real-world biological and social phenomena into mathematical problems while preserving their essential dynamics.
