Audition Application Forms
The applications on this page are for music program admission and scholarship consideration. For information about ensemble auditions, visit the USU Ensembles page.
Pre-Screenings
Music Therapy
Music Therapy applicants must pass a pre-screening before they will be invited to a live audition. The deadline for pre-screenings is Monday, December 15, 2025.
Piano
Piano applicants must pass a pre-screening before they will be invited to a live audition. Piano pre-screenings are accepted at any time, but in order to receive priority scholarship consideration, applicants should submit their pre-screening by Monday, December 15, 2025.
All other areas (Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Guitar, Strings, Voice, Harp) do not have pre-screening requirements.
Audition Application
All music program applicants except those applying to the Music Therapy program must submit an audition application. Applications are accepted at any time, but those wanting to secure a spot on our designated audition dates should submit their application by January 24, 2026.
We recommend that prospective music majors complete their audition in person on our February dates, but alternative arrangements may be made in the case of travel issues, scheduling conflicts, or other extenuating circumstances.
If an applicant misses the application deadline, most instrument areas continue accepting applications even after the February auditions have passed. Submit an audition application, then reach out to the professor over the primary instrument to arrange an audition appointment. Keep in mind that auditioning late may affect eligibility for scholarships, but it should not be a deterrent to applying.
