Talk Description
Preparing paperwork for customs and shipping of imports and exports can be cumbersome. USU undergraduate computer scientist Tanner Helms and a classmate, Bryce Judy, an information technology scholar, came up with the idea of developing an AI-powered platform to streamline the process and help companies comply with ever-changing regulations. They were awarded the $20,000 Tim Draper Grand Prize during the 2025 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge to bolster their start-up company, Tarifflo. At Science Unwrapped, Helms and his faculty mentor, Chad Mano, will talk about the creative and technological challenges of harnessing AI to solve a real-world problem.
