Heart of ArtSci Award
Recognizing a staff member who consistently demonstrates professionalism, integrity, civility, and respect while fostering a welcoming, collaborative, and supportive Arts & Sciences community. Through their everyday interactions and actions, they treat others with kindness, dignity, and respect, making colleagues feel valued, heard, welcomed, and included while contributing to a positive workplace culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging and connection.
A Strong Nominee...
- Consistently demonstrates professionalism, integrity, civility, kindness, and respect in their interactions with others.
- Creates an environment where colleagues feel welcomed, valued, heard, included, and treated with dignity.
- Builds trusting and positive relationships with colleagues across departments, teams, and areas of the College.
- Contributes to a positive, supportive, and respectful workplace culture, including during challenging or changing circumstances.
- Serves as a positive example for others through their everyday interactions, actions, and approach to working with colleagues.
Criteria & Eligibility
- Must be in a current, benefit-eligible position and have been employed at USU for a minimum of two continuous years.
- Be in good standing with their respective department and the university (no disciplinary actions on file within the last three years).
- Demonstrates commitment to job excellence with evidence the nominee produces high quality work, proficiency, initiative, and dependability. Shows exceptional knowledge and skills, self-motivation, and a positive attitude.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively within or across workgroups, labs, offices, departments, or divisions within the context of position responsibilities; maintains effective working relationships with co-workers.
Nomination Materials
- A letter of nomination of up to two pages from the department head or designee addressing the criteria above and answering the following prompt:
"Describe how this person demonstrates professionalism, integrity, civility, and respect in their interactions with others. How have their actions strengthened our college community or helped others feel valued, supported, welcomed, or a sense of belonging?"
Recognition
Recognized at the College Awards Ceremony. Winners will also be submitted to the Presidential Staff Awards.
Due Date
Nominations are due by December 1 to the Box folder provided by the ArtSci Dean’s Office to the Department Head.
