Lecturer of the Year

The Lecturer of the Year Award is given each year to recognize and emphasize excellence in teaching within the Lecturer ranks. This is a college-level award. There is no university counterpart.

Criteria

  1. Excellence in teaching over at least three years as supported by standard University course evaluations and letters from peers and students.
  2. The inclusion of other evidence of teaching excellence in addition to course evaluations and letters from peers.
  3. Responsibility for a minimum of a 12-credit annual assignment.
  4. Evidence of creative teaching innovation.

Nomination Materials

  1. A letter of nomination of up to two pages from the department head or designee, which addresses the criteria listed above.
  2. Abbreviated CV related to the awards criteria. The College Dean’s Office will pull one from Watermark to be included.

Recognition

Recognized at the College Awards Ceremony.

Each department may nominate one person for this award who meets the criteria outlined.

Due Date

Nominations are due to the box folder provided by Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office during the open nomination window between December 1-15.
