Undergraduate Student Researcher of the Year Award

The Undergraduate Student Researcher of the Year Award is given each year to recognize and emphasize excellence in undergraduate research. In addition to being an excellent student, a notable undergraduate researcher is one who has consistently engaged in independent inquiry through classes, student employment, and independent research grants. Students also typically share their results at undergraduate research events or professional conferences. Other scholarly activities may be considered, but the main emphasis will be on research and contributions, with a secondary emphasis on GPA.

Nomination Materials

  1. A letter of nomination of up to two pages from the department head or designee.
  2. Abbreviated CV related to the awards criteria provided by the nominee.

Recognition

Recognized at the College Awards Ceremony. Recipient will represent the college in the annual Robins Award competition and will be recognized at the Student Research Awards Ceremony during Research Week.

Each department may nominate one person for this award who meets the criteria outlined.

Due Date

Nominations are due to the box folder provided by Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office during the open nomination window between December 1-15.
