Our department is home to incredible teachers, scholars, students, and staff. We have state of the art facilities for teaching, research, and outreach (including the Intermountain Herbarium, the USU Insect Collection, a science garden, and teaching greenhouse). Biology Professor Zach Gompert received a five-year Maximizing Investigators' Research Award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences to explore chromosomal rearrangements in studies with stick insects, butterflies and seed beetles.
