Biography

I received my PhD in Medical Microbiology and came to USU to initially direct the Clinical Laboratory Medicine Program. After that program was discontinued I switched to teaching a variety of undergraduate biology classes. I enjoy teaching serious college students and have no intention of retiring.

Teaching Interests

My teaching interests focus is on the human body. I am greatly interested in its form and function and how both can be disrupted by disease and trauma. I also taught a class in medical and environmental ethics through spring 2024.

Research Interests

I have no research program, but I was listed as a co-author for a paper accepted in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2017 titled "A-mode and B-mode ultrasound measurement of fat thickness: a cadaver validation study" along with Dale Wagner, Brennan Thompson, and Sarah Schwartz.
