Odyssey Book Club Meeting #1 (Books 1-8)

Cultural

With the popularity of Christopher Nolan's film adaption, Homer's Odyssey has gained new popularity and controversy. This book club will bring together faculty, staff, students, and community members to read the original work and discuss its many themes and meanings. At the end of the semester, we will then hold a screening of the film to discuss the ways in which Homer's story continues to live and be adapted for new audiences.

Egyptian Mummies-Saturdays at the Museum

Come join us Saturday, October 10th for this school year's first Saturdays at the Museum. Learn all about Egyptian mummies and take a look at our new mummy exhibit (complete with a real life canid mummy!). Dress up is encouraged.

Screening of Christopher Nolan's Odyssey with Roundtable Discussion

Cultural

Celebrate the last day of classes with a free showing of Christopher Nolan's Odyssey. The screening will be followed by the opportunity to ask USU faculty about the film, its adaptation, and the controversies that have arisen since its release. This event is the culmination of the Odyssey Book Club, but participation in the book club is not required to attend the screening. Seats are limited, so registration is required.
