FEARLESS 2026

The first of a series of student-organized events seeking to promote the use of peaceful and nonviolent means to achieve positive social outcomes. Initially conceived as a healing salve for violence and war in Ukraine, the series will serve as a general call to stand for peace and unity over discord and division. The program will look at the meaning of peace through the lens of art culture, featuring selections of music, dance, visual art, theater, short film, and literature from today and the ages.
6:00pm-7:00pm: Artistic performance including local performers and artists as well as a performance of the Simurgh-Quintet by contemporary Ukrainian composer Victoria Polevá, inspired by the ancient Persian poem The Conference of the Birds by Farid ud-Din Attar. The Simurgh-Quintet will feature dancers from the University of Utah School of Dance.
7:30pm-9:30pm: The Utah premiere of the film "The Sky Was on Fire: Ballet and War in Ukraine" by Adrenaline Films.
An accompanying art exhibition will be on display in the lobby from 2:00 PM to the close of the event.

The Parent Connective is a collaboration between USU Social Work and the Department of Health to provide local parents with free evidence-based parenting support and increase a sense of community. From January-May 2026, all students, parents, and professionals are invited to attend a free monthly webinar on the third Thursday from 6:30-7:30pm. *Professionals may earn 1 CEU for attending.

Based on a religious festival in ancient Rome, Utah State’s Ludi Romani (Roman Games) is a role-playing game that reenacts the period of history between the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BCE and the Battle of Actium thirteen years later. Students, faculty and alumni assume the roles of senators, generals, kings and gods as they participate in a deadly struggle to become the most powerful person in Rome and answer the immortal question, “Is history inevitable?"

Concerts are part of the band large ensemble curriculum. As capstone events, they typically occur twice per semester. Students are required to participate in these events as a large part of their grades, and these concerts are the culmination of several weeks of classroom rehearsals. Public Viewing Night at the USU Observatory

Friday, April 17: "Public Viewing Night" at the USU Observatory, 9-11 pm, on the roof of the Science Engineering Research (SER) Building on the USU Logan campus. Admission is FREE and all are welcome.
The SER Building (map = https://www.usu.edu/map/index.cfm?id=30
) is located west of the Chase Fine Arts Center. The closest USU parking terrace is the Gateway Terrace, located at 1071 East 700 North in Logan, https://www.usu.edu/parking/visitors

The Student Short Film Festival invites emerging filmmakers from every discipline to showcase their vision, craft, and originality on the big screen. Open to undergraduate and graduate students from all fields of study—from the sciences and humanities to the arts, engineering, education, and beyond—no prior filmmaking experience is required. Creativity, innovation, and thoughtful storytelling are what matter most. A panel of judges will review submissions and prizes will be awarded for Best in Category and Best in Show.
The opening event is a screening of Napoleon Dynamite, which will take place on the evening of Friday, April 24th at 7pm. The student films will then be screened at the Utah Theatre on Saturday, April 25th, beginning at 11am.
The event is open to the public, allowing all USU students, faculty, staff, and the entire Cache Valley community to come together in celebration of student creativity.

Each spring USU Physics Day at Lagoon offers the chance for thousands of middle school and high school students to gather at Utah’s largest amusement park to “do physics”. The USU Physics Department, the Idaho National Laboratory, and a host of STEM sponsors organize a wide variety of physics-based contests and activities at all levels centered around amusement park physics. And each year thousands of dollars in prizes and scholarships are awarded to top students and teachers.

The Utah State University Alumni Band returns for another fantastic concert series with directors Lane Weaver, Nicholas Morrison, and Thomas Rohrer! Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the June 7 & 14 performances on The Quad in the shadow of historic Old Main. Join us for our annual patriotic concert June 28 as part of Utah's official America 250 celebration, and don't miss our exciting concluding concerts on July 12 & 26. Special guest performers to be featured throughout the summer.
