Kate Petersen

Career Design Specialist at Utah State University

Kate Petersen earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Market, Merchandising, and Design from Utah State University. She chose the program because it allowed her to combine her interests in interior design, fashion, marketing, and consumer behavior.

After gaining professional experience in the field, Kate returned to school, earning a Master of Professional Communication from Westminster University. As part of her graduate work, she developed career and technical education lesson plans for an inner-city charter school.

Kate's career path has included roles as a technical writer and curriculum designer for USU Extension, as well as freelance writing and editing for graduate students. Today, she serves as a Career Design Specialist and instructor for USU's ISTU 3010: Career Exploration & Design course. She enjoys helping students explore career possibilities and reach their professional goals.
