Caine Ensembles Scholarship

Caine Ensembles are the finest players in the Music Department. Selection is by audition for: Brass, woodwind, saxophone, jazz combo, opera quartet, and Caine String Quartet. Recipients may include both majors and non-majors in the ensembles upon recommendation of the appropriate faculty member.

Carl T. Degener Memorial Scholarship

Recipient must be a major in the Department of World Languages and Cultures. Applicants record must show minimum of 9 upper division credits toward the major taken at USU. (Excluding credit in 3880/4880/4920 courses or equivalent). Applicants must have a 3.7 or higher GPA in the major. Recipients must take at least one upper division class in their major and show satisfactory progress toward the degree during each semester of their senior year.

Candidates for the Sorenson Scholarship should be junior, senior or graduate students seeking a degree in Science. Graduate student scholarship will be awarded to students making outstanding progress in molecular biology or chemistry who are heading into their second year of study. Applicants will be asked to request a letter of recommendation from a faculty member who has witnessed the applicants make outstanding progress in the previously mentioned fields. Student must have demonstrated finacial need and academic achievement.

Dr. Leslie Paxton Barker Travel Award

Graduate students traveling to academic conferences to present their research. The funds of this award can be used for airfare, room and board, and/or conference fees. Graduate students will be selected on the basis of financial need and demonstrated academic excellence in research.

Scholarship applicants shall include a resume and a maximum 500 word description of the following:
