Caine Ensembles are the finest players in the Music Department. Selection is by audition for: Brass, woodwind, saxophone, jazz combo, opera quartet, and Caine String Quartet. Recipients may include both majors and non-majors in the ensembles upon recommendation of the appropriate faculty member.

Intended to reduce the need for outside employment, freeing up more time to focus on education and participate in the activities.

Recipient must be a major in the Department of World Languages and Cultures. Applicants record must show minimum of 9 upper division credits toward the major taken at USU. (Excluding credit in 3880/4880/4920 courses or equivalent). Applicants must have a 3.7 or higher GPA in the major. Recipients must take at least one upper division class in their major and show satisfactory progress toward the degree during each semester of their senior year.

Students will have declared a major in Physics and will have junior standing at the time of application. The recipient will demonstrate academic merit by having a 3.5+ GPA and must be a US citizen.

Outstanding science student, based on academic ability and civic leadership within the community. Candidates for the Sorenson Scholarship should be junior, senior or graduate students seeking a degree in Science. Candidates will have at least a 3.5 GPA, financial need, and must report involvement in leadership activities.

Undergraduate Graduate

The Perkins Scholarship was created to support students in attaining their academic goals. Students from the Brigham area are especially encouraged to apply.

Undergraduate Sophomore

Students must be majoring in Mathematics or Statistics and must have completed their first year of coursework. Applicants should be from a rural area.

The Scholar or Awardee shall be students in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Physics. Ordinarily, this award is given to Graduate Students, but undergraduate seniors are eligible for this scholarship.

Junior or Senior students majoring in English with a focus on English Education to prepare for teaching in secondary schools. They should demonstrate financial need, with a grade point average of at least 3.4.

Candidates must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students who have financial need and demonstrate scholastic achievement (3.0+ cumulative GPA).

Graduate student scholarship will be awarded to students making outstanding progress in molecular biology or chemistry who are heading into their second year of study. Applicants will be asked to request a letter of recommendation from a faculty member who has witnessed the applicants make outstanding progress in the previously mentioned fields. Student must have demonstrated finacial need and academic achievement.

Graduate Need-Based

Graduate students traveling to academic conferences to present their research. The funds of this award can be used for airfare, room and board, and/or conference fees. Graduate students will be selected on the basis of financial need and demonstrated academic excellence in research.

Preference for student who have been active in organizations or activities within the college of Science.
