Music Box Concert Series, Fry Street Chamber Music Festival 2025

Arts/Entertainment

Save the date! July 15th at 5:30 pm in Room 104 of the Chase Fine Arts Center is the next Music Box Concert featuring outstanding students of the Fry Street Chamber Music Festival. They will introduce you to the family of stringed instruments. Learn how these instruments produce their sound and what happens as the instrument gets bigger. Students will show you special techniques of playing stringed instruments. At the end of the concert, children will have the opportunity to make a sound on the violin, viola and cello.

The concert is FREE, but seating is limited. Please register in advance at the website listed below. You may want to bring a pillow or blanket for comfort as most of the class will be on the carpeted floor.

Music Box Concerts are 30-45 minute programs presented by the USU Music Department students and guests. They are designed to provide young children access to live music concerts and are sponsored by the Music Department in the Caine College of the Arts and the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Education Endowment.

Please acknowledge that photographs taken during the event may be used for promotional purposes. Your attendance implies your permission to be photographed.

Hansen Life Science Retreat (Keynote Address & Reception)

USU's annual Hansen Life Sciences Retreat brings together students and faculty from throughout the university who are working toward understanding biological processes at the molecular level. The two-day gathering, which features a Friday evening keynote address and reception, as well as talks and poster sessions all day on Saturday, fosters multi-disciplinary learning and collaborations. Undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, faculty and staff are welcome. Registration opens in late summer. The retreat honors the memory of the late USU professor and administrator R. Gaurth Hansen (1920-2002).
